Why is my Kenmore washer washing machine so slow to fill? Water trickles in.?
Help! I am ready to pull my hair out! From start to finish, it takes my washer nearly 3 HOURS to complete ONE regular load of clothes. This problem is due to the washing machine taking FOREVER to fill with water. The water (both HOT and COLD) just trickles in. The flow pressure is extremely low and I have been assisting by dumping buckets and buckets of water into the basin to speed up this painfully slow process. This, of course, is not exactly the most convenient way to wash clothes and I can't keep this up forever. I have young children and I am constantly having to do wash laundry, but I am frustrated with having to allow 3 hours for one load! I would like to "fix" the existing washer if possible. It is an older model, so it may not be a "fixable" problem. I just thought I would ask before considering buying an entire new washing machine. Thanks for reading. The first thing I would check is to make sure that the valves are all the way on. Next Take the hoses off the back of the washer and look in the connections on the back of the washer. It might have a washer with a screen in it. The screen might be plugged. If this is the problem just take the screens out clean them and put back. If none of that helps I'd put the ends of the hoses in a bucket and then turn the valves on. This will show you how much water is coming out of the hose and you can see how fast it is coming out.
