why does my Jenn-Air french door/ bottom freezer refrigerator no longer make ice?
it dispenses water from above but no ice in the freezer
A few things can cause you to not have ice. Is the ice maker turned on? If the wire lever is locked in the up position the ice maker is turned off. On some ice makers there is a switch along the side that turns them on and off and yours may be turned off this way. Since you are getting chilled water then the water supply is on but there is a dual valve that one side is for chilled water and the other is for the ice. Another thing that happens is the tube that fills the ice maker could be blocked with ice preventing water from filling the ice maker. The ice maker itself could be defective.
A simple way to check if the ice maker itself is working would be to make sure it is turned on and fill the mold with water and wait an hour or two(some ice makers will cycle in a half hour and some take a while longer) to see if it harvests a batch. If it harvests a batch but will not refill and the fill tube is not blocked with ice you need to replace the dual inlet valve. If it does not harvest you need to replace the ice maker.
