kenmore refrigerator 2 doors and a drawer bellow I have had aprx. 2 years and a fan inside the freezer section?
seams to be freezing up (icing) I found if I remove all the frozen stuff from the drawer unplug the frig and use a hairdryer on the rear panel for around 20 minutes it will quite and the error code will go out for a few days. I had it repaired for this 3 months after purchasing the frig and it has returned about 2 months ago. sears wants to sell me a fan motor assembly but I feel the fan is reacting to another condition rather than it being the sole problem. any body had this happen to theirs? its a kenmore made by LG from Im told.
A freezer isn't anymore than an A/C unit on steroids. It has freon (or whatever they use), a compressor, coils, and a fan. All of the A/C units that I've seen ice up have been low on freon. Check to see if an A/C repair person can add freon. Most are sealed units so that may not be the problem, but it wouldn't hurt. Also check to see if the air is circulating. If it is frost free unit they have a timer that causes the defrosting to occur at night. That could be another problem area. That's my 2 cents.... hope it helps....
