Tumble dryer drum thumping & not turning properly, belt?
I have a creda excel dryer t322vw, it started making a loud thumping noise this morning and now the drum has stopped turning, well, it will go round now and again but thumps, there still seems to be air blowing through it and there's a slight burning rubber smell so is that just a belt problem? or if any1 knows how to fix it? thanks!
It could be the belt, drum roller or bearings.
It is easy enough to check the belt. If your lint trap is on top open lid to trap and remove the two screws. Using a flat screwdriver {with the dryer unplugged} at the front of the dryer top, insert driver between the dryer top and the housing {on both sides}……. and pop the top.
You can visually inspect the belt if it’s bad enough for the symptoms you describe, it will be very noticeable.
